The Coast To The Capital (C2C) is a long distance relay which will cover approximately 145 miles beginning in Carolina Beach, NC on Thursday, June 7th and ending in Raleigh, NC on Friday, June 8th. This is a one of a kind event in that it will consist of only 7 runners tackling the entire 145 mile distance! Then on Saturday, June 9th, the team will participate in the Susan G. Komen Race For The Cure before heading back home.
The C2C was originated as a way to raise funds and awareness for Delivering Hope NC which is an organization that assists families and victims of cancer. The intent was to do something out of the ordinary which would test the limits of the C2C team members. As it has been stated, “27 hours of running, with very little rest, sleep or food, is nothing compared to the suffering victims of cancer and their families go through, we will run for those who can’t.”
